A highly recognized interior designer, Kelie Mayfield received one of the highest awards for interior architecture from the National Institute of Architects. Mayfield’s architectural background compliments her creative approach to the programming, planning and design of acclaimed, award-wining projects around the world.
Mayfield received a Bachelor of Fine Arts in Interior Design with a minor in Art History with highest honors from Louisiana Tech University. She began her career as a designer with Los Angeles-based Keating Mann Jernigan Rottet, working on commercial interior projects. She then relocated to Ft. Lauderdale to work with retail giant Pavlik Design Team as a lead designer on boutique and large-scale retail stores. She received the Hart Design Excellence Traveling Fellowship, which led her to study architecture in Saintes, France.
After earning a Master of Architecture from the University of Houston, Mayfield relocated to Barcelona, Spain to join world-renowned architect Enric Miralles at EMBT Architects. She worked closely with Miralles on a number of endeavors. Upon returning to Houston, she teamed up with former colleague Lauren Rottet to help establish DMJM Rottet. In a short period, Mayfield became a principal of Rottet Studio and played an instrumental role in the growth of the firm. In 2010, Mayfield joined longtime colleague Erick Ragni to form MaRS.

A highly regarded, award-winning architect, Erick Ragni has worked with some of the most recognized firms in the country. Ragni has a keen sense of innovation, particularly when working on creative solutions for complex design problems.
Ragni received a Bachelor of Art in Art History with a minor in Fine Arts from the University of Vermont. His interest in architecture led him to Columbia University, where he attended design studio classes, and then to the Southern California Institute of Architecture, where he earned a Master of Architecture. His design career began in the office of Frank Gehry, where he was involved in two of the most famous architectural works of the 20th Century—the Walt Disney Concert Hall and the Guggenheim Museum Bilbao.
Ragni moved to Houston upon being awarded the prestigious Wortham Teaching Fellowship from Rice University and subsequently worked with Rey de la Reza Architects. He briefly relocated to San Francisco, working with HOK on large-scale Pacific Rim projects, and then spent four years as a senior associate at DMJM Rottet and Rottet Studio, helping establish the brand in the Houston market. During his tenure with Rottet, he and Mayfield formed a close working relationship that culminated in the creation of MaRS in 2010.
