NARRATIVE

Designed in collaboration by MaRS with Paige and Smoot Hull, the new cottage at The Vintage Round Top property is a transformative space that effortlessly blends the modern with the crafted to create a one-of-a-kind Boho-Luxe experience. A build-out of an existing garage, the cottage was designed to complement the same modern, vintage style as the attached No. 1450 cottage, but to have it’s own personality with higher-end finishes, raw metallics and natural elements for a more luxurious feel. The 2,000 SF, 2 bedroom, 3 bath cottage can easily transition from a lodge to an event space. The 900 SF great room is a multi-use space that encompasses both living and dining; yet with the furniture removed, it becomes a blank canvas for intimate events, such as rehearsal dinners, branding launches, or retreats. However, the true highlight of the project was working with artisans to create crafted, bespoke moments throughout the space. To name just a few examples: the great room beams were sourced from a warehouse in Pennsylvania, found by Recycling The Past; the kitchen sliding doors are from a cotton gin in Devine, Texas, found by Hector The Collector; and the fireplace was surfaced with a new product, Microcret, installed by Topcret. The result is a project that creates a tailored, immersive experience that successfully merges high-end luxury with bohemian approachability.
